The original movable-type printing press built by Johannes Gutenberg printed 42 lines per page books, and in fact for a long time after his invention, that was the only format of book that was printed. The name signifies the way in which technology can radically alter the way society works, as the invention of the printing press took learning away from the priests and gave it to the people. It also points to the fact that working within constraints is fundamental to solving problems.
